Risk warning
Cryptoassets are unregulated in many countries and highly volatile. You may lose your entire investment.

Price risk
Crypto prices can fall sharply and without warning, including to zero. Never invest money you cannot afford to lose entirely, and be especially careful with borrowed money or leverage.
Custody risk
If you hold coins on a platform, you rely on that platform staying solvent, secure and willing to process withdrawals. If you self-custody, losing your recovery phrase means losing your funds permanently — nobody can restore it for you.
Platform and counterparty risk
Exchanges can be hacked, frozen by regulators, or fail. Deposit protection schemes that cover bank accounts usually do not cover cryptoassets.
Scams and fraud
Fake support staff, giveaway scams, cloned websites and 'guaranteed return' offers are common. No legitimate service will ever ask for your recovery phrase.
Tax and regulation
Buying, selling, swapping and earning crypto can create taxable events. Rules differ by country and change often. Consult a qualified professional about your own situation.
